The Nether dimension is a vast decaying underworld within Minecraft. It’s accessed through use of an obsidian portal and has exclusive ore like Netherite and bosses like The Wither.
BIOMES
The Nether Wastes is the most common biome of the Nether dimension. Its rocky surface is made up of netherrack and magma cubes, with lighting from glowstone as well as scattered lava falls, while creatures like Piglins, Ghasts, and Magma Cubes roam the biome.
The Crimson Forest is a vast and dense forest biome, filled with tree-like fungi and the nether's equivalent to grass; nylium. Many creatures spawn here including Hoglins and Piglins, as well as massive structures called Bastion Remnants, made up of blackstone and containing gold blocks and different loots.
The Warped Forest, similar to its Crimson counterpart, is also a forest biome. It’s aesthetically very opposite to the crimson forest, being blue instead of red, and only Endermen and Striders reside here.
The Soul Sand Valley is a much more empty part of the nether. Its flatter terrain is made up wholly of soul sand, while there are dark caves and skeletal fossils scattered throughout. Deadly ghasts and skeletons live in this biome, while there are still structures like the Bastion Remnant, as well as Basalt Pillars found within the residing lava oceans.
The Basalt Deltas are a desolate, spiked terrain of basalt formations, as well as occasional gravel spots with pools of lava. The only mob that can be found here are the Magma Cubes, and aside from that, this area isn’t very useful.
ORES
Gold Ore
Although not exclusive to the nether, gold is found at Y level 7 to 177 and can be useful for trading with Piglins, or for their non-nether purposes like crafting armor and tools.
Quartz Ore
Found only in the nether dimension, and found at Y level 10 to 117. Quartz is pretty much only used to create decorative blocks for building.
Ancient Debris
Probably the most sought after ore in the game, Ancient Debris is found underground at Y level 15 and can be made into the most strong and durable armor/tools possible.
MOBS
Blaze
Blazes are found in Nether Fortresses, only spawned by mob spawners. They drop Blaze rods which can be used to craft Eyes of Ender to eventually beat the game.
Ghasts
Ghasts can be mainly found within the Nether Wastes and are very annoying to deal with as they fly from a distance while shooting fire charges at you. They do however drop Ghast Tears which can be used to brew potions of Regeneration.
Magma Cube
They can be found in the Nether Wastes, and are also the only mobs found in the Basalt Deltas. They drop Magma Cream which can also be used for brewing potions.
Wither Skeleton
One of the strongest mobs of the Nether, they can be found in Nether Fortresses. They have the possibility of dropping a wither skull which can be used to create the wither boss.
Hoglin
A Hoglin is a large hostile pig-like creature that can be found in the Crimson Forests and its bastion remnants. They don’t drop any useful loot aside from pork chops.
Piglin
Although visually similar to Hoglin’s, Piglins are a neutral mob that will only attack if provoked. They can be bartered with gold ingots, and will return very useful items like Ender pearls and enchanted books.
STRUCTURES
Nether Fortress
The Nether Fortress is a large castle-like structure consisting of corridors and towers made entirely of Nether Brick. Loot consisting of useful armors and materials can be found, as well as both Nether Wart farms, and Blaze mob spawners. There are also Wither Skeletons, Piglins and Magma Cubes that spawn within.
Bastion Remnants
The Bastion Remnants can be found anywhere in the Nether, EXCEPT Basalt Deltas. They are large structures of blackstone that come in various shapes, containing differing loot guarded by Hoglins and Piglins.
